Listed below is a showcase from the Job Actions Trailer featuring a collectionof battle actions for Black Mage. These actions are preliminary and are subject to change by the official launch of Dawntrail.

Additionally, the following information was also revealed in theProducer Live Part 81:

• A new action, which can be executed after six executions of Fire IV or two uses of Flare will be added.
• A new action that allows Ley Lines to be relocated underneath the caster.
• A buff to Manafont that grants 10,000 MP, 15 seconds of Astral Fire and 3 Umbral Hearts.
• A new spell upgrading from Thunder IV.
• A change to the mechanics of Umbral Ice, removing the passive MP regenerationand instead granting MP upon using Ice aspected spells in Umbral Ice.

In Endwalker, Black Mage has been given many quality-of-life changes to lessenthe skill gap. Enochian has now been made a trait and Aspect Mastery is nowacquired at Level 1, giving them some breathing room in keeping up their timers.Its capstone ability combines the power of Astral Fire and Umbral Ice to dealdevastating damage.

2. Thunder potency of damage over time changed from 40 to 35,duration of damage over time changed from 18 seconds to 21 seconds, and changedincreased Thunder spell effect duration from 18 seconds to 40 seconds.
3. Blizzard II effect changed from "deals ice damage to allnearby enemies" to "deals ice damage to target and all enemies nearby it," rangechanged from 0 to 25, potency changed from 50 to 100, and cast time changed from2 seconds to 3 seconds.
4. Fire II potency changed from 80 to 100, added "Astral Firebonus: grants Enhanced Flare. The effect is canceled if Astral Fire ends."
5. Thunder II potency changed from 30 to 50, potency of damageover time changed from 30 to 15, duration of damage over time changed from 12seconds to 18 seconds, changed increased Thunder spell effect duration from18 seconds to 40 seconds, and cast time changed from 3 seconds to 2.5 seconds.
6. Freeze potency changed from 100 to 120, cast time changed from2.5 seconds to 2.8 seconds, and added "can only be executed while under the effectof Umbral Ice."
7. Thunder III potency changed from 70 to 50, potency of damageover time changed from 40 to 35, duration of damage over time changed from 24seconds to 30 seconds, changed increased Thunder spell effect duration from 18seconds to 40 seconds.
8. Flare potency changed from 260 to 220, and added "Enhanced FlarePotency: 280." This spell now can only be executed while under the effect of Astral Fire andno longer removes Umbral Ice.
9. Blizzard IV's execution requirement changed from both Enochianand Umbral Ice to only Umbral Ice, and the recast time changed from 2.8 seconds to 2.5seconds.
10. Fire IV's execution requirement changed from both Enochianand Astral Fire to only Astral Fire.
11. Thunder IV Potency for damage over time changed from 30 to 20,increased Thunder spell effect duration changed from 18 seconds to 40 seconds, cast timechanged from 3 seconds to 2.5 seconds, and MP cost changed from 800 to 400.
12. Foul potency changed from 650 to 560, potency rate whenattacking remaining enemies changed from 25% to 60%, and cast time changed from2.5 seconds to instant.
13. Despair potency changed from 380 to 340, and the execution requirementchanged from both Enochian and Astral Fire to only Astral Fire.
14. Umbral Soul execution requirement changed from both Enochianand Umbral Ice to only Umbral Ice.
15. Xenoglossy potency changed from 750 to 660.

1. High Fire II deals fire damage with a potency of 140 totarget and all enemies nearby it and grants Astral Fire III and removes Umbral Icefor 15 seconds. Astral Fire Bonus: grants Enhanced Flare. This effect is canceledif Astral Fire ends.
2. High Blizzard II deals ice damage with a potency of 140to target and all enemies nearby it for 15 seconds. Additional Effect: grantsUmbral Ice III and removes Astral Fire.
3. Paradox deals unaspected damage with a potency of 500.Astral Fire Bonus: Refreshes the duration of Astral Fire and 40% chance to grant Firestarterfor 15 seconds. Firestarter Effect: Next Fire III will require no time to castand cost no MP for 30 seconds. Umbral Ice Bonus: Spell is cast immediately,requires no MP to cast, and refreshes the duration of Umbral Ice for 15 seconds.Can only be executed while under the effect of Paradox. This action cannot beassigned to a hotbar.

2. Ley Lines recast time changed from 90 seconds to 120 seconds.
3. Sharpcast added Paradox effect, added 2 maximum charges, andduration changed from 15 seconds to 30 seconds.
4. Triplecast now has 2 maximum charges.

1. Amplifier grants Polyglot. This ability can only be executedwhile under the effect of Astral Fire or Umbral Ice.

Sleep and Enochian were both removed in Patch 6.0.

1. Aspect Mastery's learning level changed from 72 to 1.
2. Maim and Mend no longer "allows for the stacking of a third AstralFire or Umbral Ice which reduces cast times for spells of the opposite elementby half."
3. Thundercloud duration changed from 18 seconds to 40 seconds.
4. Maim and Mend II no longer "allows the stacking of a third AstralFire or Umbral Ice."
5. Firestarter duration changed from 18 seconds to 30 seconds.
6. Enhanced Freeze's Umbral Hearts applied changed from 1 to 3.

1. Aspect Mastery II allows the stacking of a second Astral Fire and Umbral Ice.
2. Aspect Mastery III allows the stacking of a third Astral Fire and Umbral Ice.Casting Fire II or Blizzard II grants maximum stacks of Astral Fire or Umbral Icerespectively.
3. Enochian increases damage dealt by 5% while under the effect of AstralFire or Umbral Ice. Upon successfully landing Fire II while under the effect ofAstral Fire, grants Enhanced Flare. Enhanced Flare effect ends if Astral Fire is lost.
4. Enhanced Foul allows for the immediate casting of Foul.
5. Aspect Mastery IV upgrades Fire II and Blizzard II to High Fire IIand High Blizzard II.
6. Enhanced Manafont reduces Manafont recast time to 120 seconds.
7. Enhanced Enochian III improves Enochian's magic damage increase to 20%.
8. Enhanced Sharpcast II allows the accumulation of charges for consecutiveuses of Sharpcast.
9. Aspect Mastery V adds a Paradox marker to your Elemental Gauge. The markeris made active after reaching Astral Fire III then swapping to the opposite element.Conversely, the marker can also be made active after reaching Umbral Ice III andgaining 3 Umbral Hearts then swapping to the opposite element. Blizzard and Firebecome Paradox when the Paradox marker is made active.
