Here's where you can find information about returning something or getting a refund for something that you bought using Google Pay.

Return something that you bought in a shop

  1. Find your shop receipt.
  2. Take the receipt and the item to the shop.
  3. If the merchant asks you to swipe your card, hold the back of your phone to the contactless payment terminal.
    • For some returns, you might have to provide the last four digits of your virtual account number. You can find your virtual account number on the card details screen in your Google Pay app Return a purchase - Google Pay Help (1).

Tip:The retailer will let you know when you should expect your refund.

Return something that you bought online with Google Pay

If you used GooglePay to buy something from a non-Google website or app, contact the retailer's customer support team. Refunds are deposited to your linked bank account, not your GooglePay balance.
