Are Labcorp results accurate? ›

Labcorp provides leading-edge medical laboratory tests and services through a national network of primary clinical laboratories and specialty testing laboratories. Our labs perform regular quality assurance testing to ensure our results are accurate.

Are appointments required? Appointments are not required but may help reduce your patient's wait time. Our locations are generally busiest from opening until 10:00 AM. If withholding food and/or beverages prior to the test is not required, you may wish to schedule an appointment during off-peak hours.

How do I access my lab test results? Lab results are delivered to your Labcorp Patient™ portal account. Log in or register online. For more information, you may also see our Notice of Privacy Practices.

To protect the privacy of your data, the personal information in your lab test order must match your Labcorp Patient account. If the information is different, your results may not appear in your account. If you need help accessing your results, you can contact us.

For the purpose of understanding if there is any quality difference between Quest Diagnostics and LabCorp, the answer is no, they both use the highest quality standards and machines.

The accuracy of certain test results may be affected by what you eat, medicines you take, and even how your feel when you provide your test sample. Common things that affect tests include: Eating and drinking certain foods and drinks. Taking certain medicines or supplements.

Results are delivered to your Labcorp Patient™ account at the same time they are reported to your healthcare provider (unless state or federal laws restrict timing of delivery). Note that some results, such as employee drug screening, are not available in Labcorp Patient.

Most are usually ready within around 72 hours. However, there are some tests – such as the HbA1c blood test – that can take up to a week to return results. The coeliac blood test and the test for vitamin D, meanwhile, are outliers, often taking as long as 2 to 3 weeks. Why does it all take so long?

In most cases, lab test results delivery times should not exceed two weeks. The most common reason for delay in receiving results is inaccurate or out-of-date personal information on record with your health care providers or in your Labcorp Patient™​ portal personal profile.

It depends upon what you have been diagnosed with. If you have been diagnosed with minor ailments the doctor will not call right away.

Processing and Results

Depending on the complexity of the test being performed, it could take a few hours or as long as several days before your results are reported to your doctor. You may access your lab results in the Labcorp patient portal after they have been reported to your doctor.

Labcorp has an uneven reputation. Some facilities get positive reviews from consumers, while others get negative reviews. Overall, feedback on Labcorp's professionalism and customer service includes a number of complaints. However, their test results are said to be accurate and trustworthy.

Getting your blood test results

You may get your blood test results after a few days, and usually within a few weeks. If you do not hear anything after a few weeks, contact the GP surgery or specialist. The GP, nurse, or specialist should talk to you about your results and explain what happens next.

Currently the average time to deliver results is 1-2 days from when your sample is received at the lab. Our labs process samples seven days a week.

The vast majority of tests performed at LabCorp clinical laboratories return accurate results which are promptly disclosed to patients and their physicians.

DNA tests, like those offered at Any Lab Test Now®, are 99.999 percent accurate.

Accreditations. Labcorp, an AABB accredited laboratory, has provided accurate and reliable genetic paternity testing since 1981.

While they do have to meet very high standards, they can be wrong sometimes. For example, you might get a false positive (the results say you have the condition you were tested for, but you really don't) or a false negative (the results say you don't have a condition, but you really do).
