Uncover Easter eggs and other secrets on PS4, Xbox One, and Windows 10

The first MMO entry in the Fallout series has an impressive amount of secrets to uncover. On top of all the Fallout Easter eggs developers hid in the game, players have discovered dozens of glitches and exploits that make it possible to cheat in Fallout 76.

The following Fallout 76 cheats apply to all versions of the game for PS4, Xbox One, and Windows 10. An internet connection is required to play at all times regardless of the platform.

Because Fallout 76 is an online game, developers may implement changes that affect the accuracy of the information in this article.

Fallout 76 Caps Cheats

Fallout veterans are used to trading bottle caps as a form of currency. Aside from defeating enemies, here are some of the best ways to earn caps:

  • Participate in group events with other players.
  • Complete main quests by yourself or with others.
  • Sell items you don't need to vendors or other players.
  • Collect bounties. Players with open bounties are marked red on the map.

Maximize the number of caps you collect by leveling up your luck and charisma stats to access perk cards. For example, the Fortune Finder perk helps you locate nearby stashes of caps, and the Caps Collector perk gives you extra caps from stashes. The Hard Bargain perk slashes the prices of items, so you'll save money on purchases. Another perk that saves you caps is Travel Agent, which reduces the cost of fast travel.

Where to Find Power Armor Frames

Power Armor Frames can be found in every region of the map, but some are more difficult to obtain than others. That said, you can always find one hiding in the corner of a warehouse in the Morgantown Trainyard just east of Vault 76.

Other players cannot pick up your Power Armor Frame once you claim it; however, they can steal any loot inside, so stash your important items before abandoning your Power Armor Frames.

How to Get Infinite Power Cores

Go to the Dyer Chemical Plant in the Mire on the southeast part of the map and fight Robobrains. They will automatically respawn, so you can collect as many power cores from them as you need.

How to Get Easy XP

To quickly level up your character:

  1. Go to the clubhouse at Whitespring Golf Club.

  2. Walk in circles around the main room to attract ghouls.

  3. Leave the clubhouse and lead the ghouls toward the nearby explosive car.

  4. Walk around the car until all the ghouls are following you.

  5. Stand on top of the vehicle and use any weapon to cause an explosion.

  6. You probably won't survive the explosion, but you will earn over 1,000 XP from the slain ghouls anyway. After you restart the game, return to the same spot and collect any belongings you lost in the blast, and then repeat the process.

Developers have removed an old glitch that allowed players to gain easy XP by continually disarming traps.

  7. That's it!

How to Duplicate Items

This trick only works with items that show up on the map, which excludes loot you get from chests, dead bodies, or quests. When you come across an item that you want multiples of:

  1. Pick up the item.

  2. Save and choose to quit the game.

  3. Restart the game on a different server. The same item should be in the same location on the map.

  4. Repeat until you have everything you want.

Many items eventually respawn if you leave an area and return later, but server hopping is a quicker way to stock up.

  5. That's it!

Fallout 76 Easter Eggs

Fallout 76 contains dozens of Easter eggs, most of which are references to real-life movies and TV shows.

Pop Culture References

In addition to nods to The Shining, Alice in Wonderland, and Breaking Bad, you'll also find a reference to the legendary Mothman. Look for a group of corpses in the woods of West Virginia and search the bodies to find a note insinuating that the Mothman is a deity in the world of Fallout 76.

Nuke Tapper Mini-Game

Check the computer near your bed in Vault 76 to play Nuka Tapper, which is a clone of the 1983 arcade classic Root Beer Tapper.

Alien Blaster

Before you search for the Alien Blaster, you should know that it is a relatively useless weapon. Collect it from a safe in the toxic valley southwest of Graninger Farm. Equip a Hazmat Suit, or take some Rad-X, to walk through the toxic water without taking damage.

The blaster will be empty when you find it. To get the ammo, search the Mount Blair Train Yard northwest of Welch to find a locker containing the TNT Dome 2 key. TNT Dome 2 is located west of Vault 76; go there to find the Alien Blaster ammo along with plans to upgrade the weapon.

Fallout 76 Mods for Windows

If you're playing on PC, you can take advantage of player-created mods to get infinite items, make yourself invincible, or change gameplay in other ways. Fallout76mods.com is a trusted source for mods and includes instructions for installing them. Always run a virus scan before opening files downloaded from the internet.

Fallout 76 Secret Room

A few players have discovered a secret location in the game used by developers to test gameplay mechanics. In addition to every item currently available in Fallout 76, it also houses items that haven't been officially released yet. Bethesda has confirmed that the secret room indeed exists in a hidden location in the game's world (probably below the surface or high above the world map).

The room was found using a specific teleportation hack only available in the PC version of the game, but the developers quickly disabled the hack. Instructions for how to find the secret room may be available on internet forums, but be warned that developers have reportedly banned players who try to access it.
